Shopping for frills, sipping on fizz, dancing, getting dolled at the beauty bar, overdose on frilly decor, indulge in sweets, rad giveaways, and rub shoulders with your blog crush and other wedding lovers.

We can’t imagine what it must feel like to have news that a loved one can not be found or just in general not knowing what happened to them.  This is the case of so many for over in Japan.

Emily Nakano Co, one of the writers of Absolutely Fobulous, and a personal friend of Lydia from Ever Ours, has family members over in Japan.  While they are affected only with electricity outages and water shortages, all are accounted for and safe and sound.  However, Emily has MANY personal friends who can not find their family members.  As much as she’d liked to fly over there to help and comfort them, she understands the best possible way right now is to help with donations.  Thus she has started- Just One Crane.

The goal  is to raise money for Save the Children Japan, and demonstrate solidarity with Japan by folding 1,000 cranes and raise a $1,000. A powerful Japanese tradition, friends and family of those who are suffering often painstakingly fold 1,000 origami cranes as a message of hope and love. In addition to your donation, we ask that you fold a crane, and simply post a picture of it in the Facebook page here:http://on.fb.me/gopbrm

Our aim is to get paper cranes folded from all over the world as we unite for one cause.

Your money will go to Save the Children Japan, which has already built 4 child-friendly spaces in Sendai shelters, and distributed relief goods such as blankets and food to over 600 people. Not only has the organization reacted swiftly during the post-quake crisis, but it has a long term three-year plan in place for healing Japan. These kids have experienced trauma at such a young age — let’s aid Japan in its efforts to protect its youth and help them to recover.

Visit the JustOneCrane Facebook page (http://on.fb.me/gopbrm) for instructions on how to fold an origami crane and upload a picture of your crane.

This truly is an amazing blog to read.  Please be prepared with a box of kleenex by your side. Despite the tears that may well up in your eyes, we firmly URGE you to take a look.  Please.

Wakako, the owner of blog, SOS Japan, has collected as many SOS messages from Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims that need urgent attention. These messages are often left on other people’s blogs as comments (especially celebrity blogs with high traffic). Many Japanese people are circulating these stories in hopes to send rescues and relief supplies to these areas.

Wakako has taken the time to translate and date each message in order to share the story as accurately as possible.

This is truly a heartwrenching blog to read.  It’s a reminder of what really is going on over there in Japan and what this campaign is helping with.

The Happy Family Movement started with a tiny idea and happy music but also with a much bigger idea, in mind that the Solars could raise a happy, loving family. An idea that they could do things differently, that they could have fun with their kids, that they could live by our own rules.

We love what they’re doing over on their blog.  They’ve created little challenges for their readers to participate in a creative way to get families together.  This challenge here is directly linked to For Japan With Love.  All they’ve done is ask their readers to donate $5 (or more) to For Japan With Love and to print out the receipt and email it to them.

However, if they raise $500, they will match it and donate another $500 so that they can sponsor our very own Happy Family Movement ShelterBox.
